An Interview with Jean-Martin Fortier, Super-Gardener

Two years ago give or take, a Quebecois market gardener called Jean-Martin Fortier wrote a book about how to set up a successful market garden based on biologically intensive principles. He published it in French, and it went off like a hot damn. So he wrangled the money together to publish in English. The english translation is currently available for pre-order here, with the official book launch coming within the next few weeks.

We think this will be an excellent book for SOIL apprentices interested in veggie production. The interview with Jean-Martin featured here is also full of useful information for aspiring farmers. Check it out!

This audio comes courtesty of The Ruminant Podcast, a show for farmers and gardeners.

SOIL links Canadian farmers willing to take on and train apprentices with folks wanting to work and learn on an organic farm using sustainable practices. We aim to create apprenticeships and internships which transfer lasting knowledge to both the farmer and the apprentice.
